Micronesia - From the surface, Truk Lagoon in the South Pacific looks beautiful with clear blue waters. But once dive to underwater, will seen spooky story this region in World War II.
Time ago, Truk Lagoon or original name is Chuuk Lagoon located in the Federated States of Micronesia, South Pacific this is an area of major Japanese base during World War II. But, this region bombarded by Allied Forces for 3 days and 3 nights for the reply the Japanese attack in Pearl Harbour.
This magnificent base ends with tragic. More than 60 Japanese warships and 200 aircraft sank. Fragments warships and aircraft that already rusted and overgrown with coral sprawled on the seabed.
Fractional furniture also seen half submerged by mud and sand. Even, there are also some skulls that were victims of World War II were drowning because of the Allied attack. Not only in within shipwrecks, the human skull can be found scattered around the seabed.
During almost more than 25 years Truk Lagoon area is untouched by humans. Some people do not touch it because of respect for the victims who fell there. Some others feel fear because of her story.
Regions that located near Papua New Guinea attracted the attention diving enthusiasts. Because, not only one shipwrecks which looks, but there are dozens.
Plus again, there are hundreds of wreckage that has become the kingdom of coral reefs and other marine biota. Truk Lagoon, is called as the biggest shipwreck sites in the world.
Shipwrecks which contains bullets, tank war and even Jeep car also became an attraction that can not be found in many places. Not infrequently also coral reefs colorful life lining the carcasses that looks this creepy. Curious want to dive there?
